During our golf course renovation in 2019, we unearthed some Civil War cannon balls on the Cape Fear Country Club property. The discovery created a lot of interest in regard to the history of the Club's land. To answer questions, in 2020 we had a presentation on The History of the Grounds. The event was hosted by Dr. Chris Fonvielle, Professor Emeritus of the Department of History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Dr. Fonvielle discussed the history of the property during the Civil War and the recent findings at the Club. Here is the video of the presentation:
